A Part of Bonnie's Team

Fabric-Etc, located on Birchwood Avenue, has held another one of their annual events in their store for the month of October.

For Carol Stewart, owner of Fabric-Etc, October means a whole lot more than dressing up for Halloween and giving out candy. October hits hard for many people, as it is also Breast Cancer Awareness month.

To memorialize Carol’s friend Bonnie DeSpain, who passed away of cancer in 2001, Fabric-Etc donates quilts to chemotherapy patients located at Birchwood’s local Infusion Center. Though this event is personal to Carol, it is so rewarding for anyone who enjoys making quilts, to be a part of “Bonnie’s Team”.

Fabric-Etc opens its’ doors to anyone who is interested in donating quilts that they have made and have it hung all over the store for people to see.

At the end of October, the quilts will then be sent to Birchwood’s local Infusion Center for the chemotherapy patients.

Furthermore, from November 6-8, Fabric-Etc is holding a Fall Fabric Frenzy sale that is located on 1633 Birchwood Ave. Bellingham, Wash. Many fall themed quilts will be on display for anyone interested, it would make a warm and thoughtful gift for family and friends!
